In his capacity of Chairman of the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce (BRCC), Atty. Victor Gugushev was a guest of "Business Start" program on Bloomberg TV.

He commented on the prospects for Bulgaria and Romania's Schengen membership in view of the upcoming vote of the Justice and Home Affairs Council of the EU on the abolition of land borders in the area. Atty. Victor Gugushev referred to the negative factors, such as the land border controls introduced by Germany to counter the illegal flow of migrants and the far right coming to power in Austria, but he highlighted that there are also a number of positive signals that full membership for us and our northern neighbor is pending in the near future. Victor Orbán's speech, who strongly supported the full membership of the two countries in Schengen and commented that this would be one of the important objectives of the Hungarian EU presidency, gives us grounds for positive expectations in this direction as well.

The discussion went through some topical ideas such as the abolition of borders between Bulgaria and Romania to facilitate communication and exchange, and the construction of new bridges and road facilities to strengthen connectivity between the two countries.
